Thank you to all who attended the 2007 SRCEA Conference in Kansas City, Missouri! Paper presentations were excellent, with many leading to healthy discussion and sharing of ideas. Graduate student attendance was outstanding and the participation and exchange of ideas between P-12 professionals and individuals from higher education was stimulating and encouraging! The conference provided exceptional professional development opportunities, a variety of excellent networking activities such as the Awesome Auction which took place at the reception the Friday night, and the "ART TOUR" in downtown Kansas City! The facility, Hotel Phillips, was excellent, and the food and SERVICE provided by the Hotel Phillips staff were among the best any members could recall!
Sandy Hutchinson and Sandra Gupton did outstanding work implementing the conference plan and the support of the members of the Board and officers was deeply appreciated. Many conference attendees (SRCEA Members) remained active throughout the conference, including the activities on Sunday morning!
Speakers and panel members provided varied perspectives on several aspects of leadership at a variety of levels (primary grades through graduate school). Every session was productive and meaningful. Nick Machelli both informed and motivated the attendees as did Katie Ritter. Paula Short facilitated an outstanding discussion that included not only the members of the panel, made up of outstanding school leaders from the Kansas City region, but conference attendees as well. President Gupton deftly lead the organization through the process of revising the SRCEA Constitution and Bylaws, both of which are now available by following the links on this website.
The SRCEA 2007 Conference is now history, but will be remembered as an effective, well-presented, and productive event! Make plans now to join us in Charleston, WEST VIRGINIA next year. Watch this website for details!
Greetings to all!
